Important information on A2 and AS results
18/08/2020
Dear learner
Further to the release of your AS and A2 grades last week, you may have seen the announcement yesterday that the Welsh Government are now going to award all learners their ‘centre assessed grades’ instead.
What happens next?
We are now in the process of reviewing the AS and A2 grades you have received alongside your centre assessed grades e.g. the AS/A2 grades that were allocated to you by the college. We will be in touch with you by email and letter as soon as we can to let you know what your centre assessed grades are.
I’m an A2 learner who needs my grades urgently to secure a University place
If you need to find out what your centre assessed grades are in order to secure a place at university, please contact us on our dedicated telephone hotline: 01685 726007 and we will be able to provide your results to you over the telephone. Please note that you will be asked to confirm your learner ID number, date of birth and address before we tell you your grades.
What if I am still not happy once I’ve received my Centre Assessed Results?
If you are still not happy with the centre assessed grades you have been awarded, then you may have grounds for appeal. We are awaiting guidance from the WJEC to see on what grounds you may be able to appeal against these grades.
As soon as we have received this appeal guidance we will publicise it to all learners. If you do think that you have grounds for appeal, please email us at complaints@merthyr.ac.uk with the reasons for your appeal and we will then investigate this further for you.
In the meantime, if you have any queries on the above, please email our Student Records Helpdesk on S.Helpdesk@MERTHYR.AC.UK.
Finally, we would like to wish you the very best of your luck for your A2 studies with us or your future university degree or employment route.
Yours Sincerely
Leanne Jones
Director of Planning and Operations
