HNC/HND Computing (Part-Time)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The HNC/HND in Computing is a 3 year part time course studied at levels 4/5.  The course is aimed at those aspiring towards careers in Computing, IT, and End User Support or those who wish to continue with their education at a Higher Education Level.

Year 1 HNC:

• Information Systems Analysis and Design 1
• Web Development

• Computer Systems and Network Concepts
• Professional Practice
• Software Development
• Computer Programming
• Problem Solving

Year 2 HND:

• Information Systems Analysis and Design 2
• Systems Architecture and Modelling
• Creating Virtual Reality Environments

• Computer programming 2
• HND Individual Projects

ENTRY

•          A BTEC National Diploma in a relevant subject

•          Advanced GNVQ/AVCE in a relevant subject

•          Two Advanced level subjects, at least one in a relevant  subject

Students should also have at least four GCSE’s including mathematics at grade C and above.

Mature students are welcome on the course, we take into account accreditation of prior learning, work based learning and candidates career aspirations.
