COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Description
The course is aimed at individuals who wish to pursue a career in the sports coaching and development field. Alongside the main qualification you will have the opportunity to study to become a personal trainer. Year 1 offers the prospect to qualify as a Level 2 Gym Instructor progressing in year 2 to a Level 3 Personal Trainer. The course is suited to keen coaching and fitness enthusiasts who wish to further their knowledge of player performance and improve their employability in the coaching sector. A particular attraction of the course is the employer links and potential for employment. Year 2 includes a work placement which offers the opportunity to create links with future employers and apply real life skills developed on the course.
Assessment
The course is assessed with a mixture of practical and theory assessments. Assessments include practical coaching, practical demonstrations, presentations, essays, case studies, exams.

ENTRY
Applicants require a relevant level 3 qualification. Mature students with relevant experience may also be considered. All applicants will have to complete an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy and undergo an interview prior to acceptance.
