This course is a nationally recognised qualification, open to students of all ages who are either seeking entry to university or who are looking for access to a wide range of business, e-business and administrative opportunities.
The extended diploma in business is an exciting blend of traditional business units and e-business units that reflect the changing nature of business in the current climate. Students will study units such as creative product promotion, marketing and starting a small business as part of the BTEC.
They will also widen their business knowledge by entering national competitions and undertaking work experience in Germany, allowing them to put theory into practice.
The Welsh Baccalaureate level 3 includes practical activities such as volunteering and personal and social education as well as the opportunity to attend UK and European visits. This course enhances the students’ employability and enables progression to higher level courses, whilst improving key skills such as communication and team work.
Generally the course is open to applicants over the age of 16 together with mature applicants, who are very welcome.
Applicants would normally be required to possess or be expected to possess a minimum of 5 GCSE passes at A-C grades or equivalent qualifications. Mature applicants without the required entry qualifications may be accepted by interview.
While prerequisite qualifications are important, equally important is a desire to learn and a determination to succeed.
