Full time, 1 year – 16 hours per week
COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is aimed mainly at school leavers who want a career in information technology. It includes the following units; the on-line world, a digital portfolio, website development, database and spreadsheet development, computer networks and creating digital graphics. By following these units students can gain the basic skills for working in this exciting field of study. The award allows students entry to a higher level course such as the BTEC Foundation Diploma in Computing & WBQ.
NVQ level 1 in IT, GCSEs at grades D-G or equivalent. Applicants should have basic skills in literacy and numeracy as well as a particular interest in computing and information technology. All applicants will be interviewed by the course tutor.
WHERE NEXT? Successful completion of the level 2 will enable students to progress directly onto the BTEC L3 Foundation Diploma in Computing.
