Local artists, members of the public, prospective students and parents had the opportunity to view the creative talents on offer at The College Merthyr Tydfil as part of the end of year ‘Showcase 15’ exhibition of student art, design and photography work. The exhibition, which was held in the college’s ‘Creative Arts’ space showcased the fantastic talents of the college’s BTEC, A level and Foundation Degree students together with the specialised art and design facilities on offer at the college. These include eight practical art rooms, two Mac laboratories, a Life Drawing room, a Photography Studio and Dark Room and a modern exhibition space.
The exhibition attracted well over 200 visitors, many of whom were very complimentary of the talents on show.
Art and Design Tutor, Jason Williams stated “Staff are very proud of the students’ achievements that have culminated in a highly successful and professional showcase of work, seeing many of them progressing to Higher Education.”
