Part Time 1 year – 4 hours per week

None are needed. Entry will be decided when the student attends an interview for the course.

About the Course


Classes are held at the college. Learners may choose to study literacy, numeracy or both. Attendance is flexible. Courses run during the day and evening depending on numbers of learners.

What you will Study

BCS part 1:
The aim of these classes is to improve the learner’s reading, writing and number skills. The classes cater for all levels from absolute beginners to students who wish to brush up on their spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. Numeracy classes develop skills for handling money, measuring things and working out simple calculations.

On Completion/Career Paths


It is possible to gain a City & Guilds or OCN qualification or progress onto GCSE or vocational courses.
